Report on the Situation of Human Rights Defenders and Social Leaders in Colombia

This report addresses the situation of human rights defenders and social leaders in Colombia, with special emphasis on the span of time between the negotiations and subsequent signing of the Peace Agreement between the Colombian State and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia People's Army (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia Ejercito del Pueblo, FARC-EP) and the date of approval of this report. The report offers recommendations with the aim of helping the Colombian State strengthen its efforts to protect and guarantee the human rights of the country?s human rights defenders and social leaders.
