Lobbying by mining industry on the proposed Canadian Ombudsperson for Responsible Enterprise

The data is retrieved from the Office of the Lobbying Commissioner of Canada. For those wishing to confirm these statistics, a guide on how to use the site is appended at the end of this report. The lobbyists self-report the subject matter(s) of the meetings and we do not know their precise content. There were over 500 meetings and about 100 were tagged as addressing international issues. It should be noted that only the contacts made by the two main mining organizations were tracked. There were other contacts made by individual mining companies during this period, so the numbers cited in this report do not represent the full scope of mining lobbying on Parliament Hill.
